Background:In the outbreak of the COVID-19 in Wuhan, China in November 2019, governments and international communities looked at it as necessary to lockdown their territories to travel, internal movements and this resulted into the closure of schools, making it impossible for the students to access learning.
A case study of Uganda where the internet usage is still very poor, since the outbreak of COVID-19, more students and parents have been introduced to the internet because some schools are teaching students or sharing learning materials online while a high number of students spend most of their time using the internet to communicate to their friends, including using social media. It is therefore eminent that the students and parents be encouraged to use it correctly.
This webinar was therefore planned to expose the students to best practices of the use of the internet in these times of the COVID-19 . In addition, the webinar was also to highlight the dangers that arise out of the reckless use of the internet, which dangers may include: cyberbulying, online sexual abuse, imposter scams, identity theft, hacking of email accounts, exposure to early sex and bad peer grouping.

AccessPlus hosts webinar on Safe Browsing
On Tuesday, 30th June 2020, AccessPlus hosted a webinar on Safe Browsing, one of the very first webinars targeting students. The webinar was to share the best practices of using the internet to minimize the rampant online safety risks that the students and general public are exposed to especially during the COVID19 Pandemic when the majority of the students spend their time on the internet while many have been newly introduced to it.

The target audience for the topic was mainly the students. However, a number of adults expressed interest and attended the session.
